Minutes of the meeting

Attendance:
Kate Appleton, John Stewart, Donna Mendoza, Jo Fuller, Leandra Negrini, Robyn Bosley.
Apologies: Craig Duncan, Lindee Wilson, Philomena Cameiro

Welcome and Introductions:

1. Housekeeping and general updates :

· Jo Fuller gave a quick overview of current projects.
· Baptist Community Services: 20 participants currently enrolled in Cert III Home and Community Care ( Aged care focus).
· Jo and Robyn to host a Podcast information session next week.
· P.C.Y.C.C. 12 month program with volunteers in NSW, project targeted at year 11 & 12 students, in Cert III Community Recreation. Project identified as consisting of many challenges resulting in 10 participants being identified to continue. Project commencing within 3 weeks.
· Bvet funding: Cert IV Welfare. Presently targeting 20 participants in Community Services organisations who will undertake 8 units.
· Scalabrini Aged Care: Cert III aged Care project has been running for the last 12 months, participants graduating next month. 2nd project for War Veterans Cert III commencing and Yass commencing Cert III in Aged Care.
· Campbelltown Children’s Services: S.S.T.P funding available for the Camden Family day Care Scheme. Undertaking part completion of Cert III in Children’s Services. Currently initiating RPL for participants, and undertaking workshops of an evening.
· Y.M.C.A. Cert IV OOSH Care. Currently running in the Cumberland, McCarthur area, project consisting of part RPL and part delivery. Possibility of access to materials flexibly through the TAFE jetty.
· Y.W.C.A. Presently targeting the Rosemeadow area. Possibility of opening a Drop-in-café, offering access to online course training. Looking to develop further pathways to continue course enrolment with TAFE.
· B.G.F. Continuance of current CERT IV in Community Services pending, new materials, ‘In the House’ released and participants viewed documents.

Outcomes:
· Jo Fuller to send a copy of the ‘In the house” resource to attendees for viewing.
· Deb to seek cost of purchasing Ring binders, covers and backing sheets for Robyn’s binding machine, for use as a resource to other sections needing items bound.

2. Assessor Teacher Evidence Guide, presentation by Jo Fuller
3. Learner Evidence Guide

Jo Fuller gave a quick overview of the current Teacher Assessor & Learner Evidence Guides, hard copy drafts being viewed by all at meeting. Discussion followed in regards to deciding what formate would be most appropriate.
Outcomes:
· All present agreed that a CD would be beneficial, and required a instruction sheet to be developed.
· The smaller booklet was also preferred by attendees as the choice for distribution to applicants.
· The development of an online version to be made available to applicants.
· A discipline specific flyer/pamphlet to be developed as a method of marketing.

4. Who to target:
Outcomes:
· Jo fuller to work with Donna Mendoza in the non-teaching week to look at merging into Sport and Recreation area.
· All attending agreed that at this time there were adequate projects underway, and for the time being did not require further promotions.

5. Marketing ideas, what needs to be sent with the Learner Evidence Guide CD, letter, flyer, promotional ideas.

Discussed in points 2 & 3.

6. Logo, marketing ideas, business cards

Robyn displayed a possible Learn@Work logo. All attending approved the logo with minor changes, removal of the words ‘get em’ and changing the colours to purple and green.
Outcomes:
· Robyn to continue working with graphic design team to change colours and remove wording.
· Once logo approved, team to further develop business cards and letterhead stationary, CD etc.

7. Future meeting dates:

Discussion of further dates undertaken, resulting in the continuance of Thursday meetings.

Minutes of Meeting held May 25th 2006

Following are the minutes of the meeting held May 25th 2006. Participants took great interest in the development of this project, especially the Learner Evidence Guide for Cert IV Community Services, developed by Jo Fuller. Ensure you place June 15th, 2006 into your diary as Jo will reveal the next CD, Teacher Evidence Guide, Cert IV Community Studies.

Minutes of the meeting

Attendance:
John Stewart, Donna Mendoza, Craig Duncan, Leandra Negrini, Philomena Cameiro, Robyn Bosley.
Apologies: Jo Fuller, Lindee Wilson

Welcome and Introductions:
All were welcomed to the meeting and introductions given.

John gave a brief overview of the purpose of Learn@Work and explained his role as facilitator.

Those present viewed the current Learner Evidence Guide on CD, and general questions were raised and answered. All present agreed that the CD was a vital and important aspect of the initial stages of promotion. After viewing, all present agreed that such a CD should be created across all disciplines. All attendees received a CD of the Learner Evidence Guide to further investigate.

Robyn Bosley gave a brief verbal overview of her attendance at the Hunter Institute meeting, Kurri Kurri Community Services get together Tuesday 11 April – Wednesday 12 April 2006.

John gave a brief overview of his interactions with the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation Housing Support Worker Training Project. Further information. Talking TAFE
Discussion was entered in relation to the present name, Learn@Work. All present agreed that the name remain as it encapsulates the goals of the project, and current discipline areas, Children’s Services, Aged Care, Welfare and Lifestyle & Leisure.

Attention was drawn to the Learn@Work Draft Strategic Plan, created at the initial meeting held March 23rd 2006.

3. Develop marketing Strategies.

All present discussed possibilities for initial targeting. Areas worth further consideration and investigation include,
Electronic – email
Electronic – Blog, Learn@work website
Stickers, magnets
Publicity Flyer

Robyn Bosley identified she would consult a Graphic Design Colleague in relation to a possible logo for the project.

All present agreed that the final marketing items selected should visually identify the project goals and capture individuals from a variety of training sectors. Further discussion as to how to develop this is to be placed on the agenda for the next meeting.
